ReturnPilot ("the App") is a Shopify application that helps merchants manage customer return requests. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App.

2. Information We Collect

When merchants install ReturnPilot, we collect and store:

  • Your Shopify store domain and access tokens (required to operate the App)
  • App settings and preferences you configure
  • Return request data submitted by your customers, including order numbers, email addresses, and return reasons
  • Email templates you customize within the App

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

  • Operate and provide the ReturnPilot service
  • Process return requests submitted through your customer portal
  • Send automated confirmation emails to your customers on your behalf
  • Generate discount codes in your Shopify store when store credit is offered
  • Display analytics and return data within your dashboard

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data or your customers' data with third parties, except as required to operate the service (e.g. sending emails via our email provider). We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

5. Customer Data

As a merchant using ReturnPilot, you are responsible for informing your customers about how their return data is collected and used. Customer data (email addresses, order numbers, return reasons) is stored solely to process return requests and is not used for any other purpose.

6. Data Retention

Return data and settings are retained for as long as your store has ReturnPilot installed. When you uninstall the App, all associated data — including return records, settings, and email templates — is permanently deleted from our systems within 24 hours.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure database storage. Access tokens are stored securely and used only to perform actions you have authorized.

8. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your data at any time by uninstalling the App or contacting us directly. Uninstalling the App will trigger automatic deletion of all your store's data from our systems.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
